Shooting practice over real targets
Shooting parameters configuration
For each target we indicate the values of twelve parameters to characterize the shooting, such as gun model, ammunition type, propellant, optics used, ambient temperature, and so on.
These parameters are saved along with the target and shots in the database and you can perform queries and statistics filtering by any combination thereof.
The dates when we make the shots are also stored, along with data concerning the score, accuracy and groupings.
With the webcam the shots are stored automatically in real time
Only have to place the webcam close enough to the target so that it covers the largest wide image area and mark the four points indicated by the program.
If the camera has zoom, you can place it at a greater distance.
It is not necessary to place the camera directly in front of the target, although the program works better the lower the perspective. We can use any webcam with 640x480 pixel resolution and 10 fps or more.
In the tests we have done, the best performance was obtained with the Logitech C510 camera model, with the best controls for zoom, brightness and contrast.
Shoot over target
For each target you indicates a number of shots to make and the program will tell you when you can shoot and the score obtained with each shot. Hits are marked on the webcam image so that you can check them though tears occur in the paper.
The shots are also stored in the database along with the target and you can then review the results with score and precision data in various measure units. The program will calculate the size of shot groups and graphically displays it on the target.
